This DVD contains 8mm color home movies from Operation Springboard 70, which was conducted just prior to her 1970 Vietnam combat cruise (2/15/70 - 2/21/70).
This is great footage filmed entirely on the ship, with the exception of a minute or so at the end of dark footage filmed inside a COD and flying ashore.
Great flight operations, filmed from the island and the LSO platform. I suspect this was filmed by a tech rep out with the A-7's.
Good scenes about the flight deck.
Great UNREP scenes.
A great look at a carrier conducting combat operations during the Cold War.
The footage has not been edited. It has been left exactly as it was captured from the 8mm films.
